Ayurveda

The word Ayurveda is made up of two components – 'Ayus' meaning 'Life' and 'Veda' meaning 'Science'. Thus Ayurveda literally means, 'the science of life'. This ancient system of medicine dates back to the Vedic period about 5000. Brahma (God), the Creator of the Universe is believed to be the originator of this system. From Brahma it passed on to the Rishis through Indra. From there it was promoted among the people for generations. Ayurveda not only deals with diseases and medicines, but also it covers all aspect of human being including all of his socio economical and personal well being.

The major treatments are as follow:

KIZHI

Kizhi one of the trade mark of Keraleeya Panchakarma is an effective as well as main therapy of many of chronic as well as dreadful disorders. Kizhi is a kind of fomentation therapy which is done using a warm poultice containing herbs, herbal powders, rice or sand.

SIROVASTHI

Siro Vasti is very useful. Siro Vasti is meant for nervous problems. It has a tradition over thousands of years and absolutely it’s a rishi invention of Ayurveda. Siro Vasti cures nervous diseases. It’s ensures an effective elimination of nervous disorders.

THARPANAM

Tharpanam or Tharpan means retention of medicines over the eyes. This treatment is for treating strain to the eyes, improve eye sight, strengthen the optic nerve and to prevent different eye diseases. It is basically an eye cleansing process.

DHARA

Dhara is the most known Ayurveda therapy. Without Dhara therapy, the Ayurveda is not completed. The main ingredients of Dhara are herbal oil, coconut water, milk, ghee etc. Dhara usually takes some time to finish and it’ll take 25 to 75 minutes time duration.

UPANAHASWEDAM

It is a special method of bandaging using leaves, meat, cereals, oil, butter, milk ghee etc. The bandage is retained for twelve hours and then removed with hot water. It is mainly used in muscular wasting, swelling, rheumatic pain, osteo arthritis etc.

VAJEEKARANA CHIKITSA

The branch of Ayurveda, which deals with the management of defective semen and spermatogenesis along with sexual potencification, is called as Vajikarana tantra. It may include Vrishya formulation and exclusive therapies that are done as per the need.

RAKTHAMOKSHAM

Rakthamoksham one of the five steps of Panchakarma that refers to the purification of blood by bloodletting to eliminate toxins that are absorbed into the bloodstream through the gastrointestinal tract; used to relieve skin disease, gout, and liver enlargement.

MARMACHIKITSA

Marma means the most vulnerable spots in our body. It is the most powerful treatment in ayurveda providing an overall healing experience. It uses neuromuscular and orthopedic science. So it is very effective in treating dislocated discs, shoulder, angle etc.

RASACHIKITSA

This is a type of treatment with medicines known as bhasmas. It is very effective in curing acute stages of various diseases. Bhasma are very fine ayurvedic medicinal powders prepared by the process of calcination of metals, minerals and natural stones or gem.

RASAYANACHIKITSA

Rasayana Chikitsa means rejuvenative therapy. It is a special type of treatment, which provides better health and cheerful life and improves vital power by keeping body-mind equilibrium through life and providing resistance to diseases.

KSHARASOOTHRA

Ksharasoothra is one of the ancient surgical procedures for curing piles, fistula and other anorectal diseases. The biggest advantage of Ayurveda treatment for piles is that it saves you from surgery and treats your condition as well as its symptoms naturally.

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body. It is an alternative therapy in China. It is one of the world famous methods for curing diseases like neuralgia, paralysis, headache and other acute and chronic diseases.

MAGNETO THERAPY

Magneto Therapy is physical and based on the application of specific magnetic fields on the human body. This is one of the new developing treatments. Thin metal magnets are attached to the body alone or in groups. This is also effective in Paralysis, Neurological diseases.

KADEE VASTHI
