Medical Visa Process

1. Vaccinations:  The patient and medical attendants should be vaccinated for the Yellow Fever and Oral Polio vaccines. Before visiting India, the yellow fever vaccine and OPV should be given at least 10 days and 4 weeks beforehand, respectively, through a hospital, clinic, or institute that the government has licensed.

2. Applicants for visas should complete the online forms available at   https://www.hcinairobi.gov.in/

3. SU-SWAGATAM mobile app is also available and could be used to fill out the form online.

4. Provide a printed copy of the completed form together with two recent, colour (51 × 51 mm) photos on white backgrounds that are no more than three months old.

 5. Eligibility:

-You must seek treatment at a reputable/recognized hospital in India and have a medical report outlining your condition, proposed treatment plan, and estimated costs.

-Two medical attendants (family members or close associates) can accompany you.

6. Documents:

-A hard copy of the completed and signed online visa application form,

-Two current, white-background, 51 x 51 mm photos, one attached and copied at the application,

-A valid Kenyan passport,

-Medical documents attesting to the necessity of receiving medical care in India, along with a letter of recommendation from a local hospital or physician,

-Acceptance letter from the Indian hospital with treatment details,

-Proof of financial resources, and travel health insurance are required,

 

Note: The following extra paperwork is needed if an applicant wants to travel for an organ transplant:

(i) Independent, notarized contracts that are properly signed by the giver and the recipient. The relationship between the donor and the beneficiary should also be specified in the agreement;

(ii) A notarized letter of consent from the caregiver,

(iii) If the kid is a minor, a notarized consent letter from the parent or parents,

(iv)  A letter and medical reports from the Ministry of Health,

Prior to submission, all of the aforementioned documents must be properly authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

3. Fees and Processing:

-The processing fee is KSH 10,800 (USD 80) for a 6-month visa and KSH 16,200 (USD 120) for a 1-year visa and can be paid at the embassy.

-Processing time is three working days, so plan accordingly and submit your application well in advance.
